We've all had that moment. Whether it be about clothes, artefacts or architecture. We've all stood in front of an awe inspiring building or gawked at a costume in a museum and exclaimed- they just don't make it like that anymore!
But here's the good news- there are still artisans out there who can produce works of prodigious skill. The bad news is, that most of them will be the last generation practising their particular art form. Even artisans who choose to carry on, end up doing handicrafts that require less time and skill to compete in the market available to them- that of melas and thelas. Here the customer comes for a good bargain, and products compete with mass produced items. However, occasionally, an artist will take out time to hone his skill and invests a lot of his time and money into making a masterpiece. A creation that he/she hopes would make them famous.
True to our ethos of being a quality and preservation oriented brand- we scour the countryside for passion projects of talented artisans. Usually they are singular, never to be repeated again. We believe that such artisans can benefit greatly from an online stage. If we can allot value to a piece of modern art by associating it to the name of its artist, perhaps it is time we extend the same courtesy to hundred of unnamed master craftsmen, who may not have invented anything new; but have done the noble task of preserving age old knowledge.
Take a look!
