Ban-Kokur : Papier Mache Cufflink Box
Price inclusive of GST
In the Kashmiri language, "Ban Kokur" means Wild Fowl. This box is an example of Kashmiri Papier Mache painting at its finest.
Since it is meant for cufflinks, the motifs feature three fabulous male pheasants of the Himalayas (in order from top to bottom); The Kaleej Pheasant, The Cheer Pheasant and the legendary Himalayan Quail, now critically endangered.
The landscape shows shepherds in valleys of Deodar and Banj oak trees. The box is finished with matte velvet inside. Papier mâché takes on a yellow tint over time, which adds to its ageless beauty.
