Dhal - Gold Koftgari Cufflinks
Price inclusive of GST
These cufflinks have been crafted in the medieval art of Koftgari- the art of gold or silver inlay into a base metal like iron. Koftgari, also called Damascening, has its origins in Persia and came to India in the 14th century, from where it was picked up by everyone from the Mughals to the Rajputs, and later, the Sikhs. It was used extensively to adorn the weapons of wealthy patrons, and can be seen on several surviving examples, from sword hilts to shields.
Here, we imagine the shield form into these fine cufflinks.
