The green belt of the Garhwal Himalayas is home to a multitude of wild mushrooms that make their presence known in the wet season. This artwork depicts 7 edible mushrooms that can be foraged for food from this region- White Elfin Saddle, Chicken mushroom, Shaggy Mane, Purple Coral, Guchhi, Reishi, and the Common Puffball.
This is a museum-grade reproduction of one of three paintings on species of the Garhwal Himalayas by reputed botanical artist Avantika Shrivastav, an SBA fellow and co-founder of the Indian Botanical Art Society. These art works were commissioned by South of Indus as part of the Landour collection.
