Shoreline Borosil Dessert Cups

This set of dessert cups has been made using a combination of mouth blowing and sculpting in borosilicate glass. Hot glass is spun on a rod and then air is blown from the other side. 

Craftsmen from Firozabad use three different colours of glass to achieve its distinct contrast, emulating the colours of a beach. These cups have been designed with care have an ergonomic grip, and to keep the user's hand away from the main vessel. Notice the lack of a die line, which shows that the cup is not mass produced. A few differences in shape are natural when each piece is hand sculpted. 

Note that the colour comes not from a film or a spray-on colour, but has been added to the glass itself for durability.
